Is the Church The Body of Christ?

A number of years back, the Holy Spirit gave me a startling revelation; he showed me the church in all of its traditions, rituals and protocols and said to me, in which of these lie the presence and power of God! To my surprise the answer was none of them; yes I was a bit dismayed, but then he began to show me the life and works of the Lord Jesus Christ and I began to see a pattern; the power and presence of God can only be seen when the veil of the flesh has been removed. Jesus was walking according to the spirit and not the flesh; He did not place undeserving honor on the works of the flesh but rather He focused on doing that which was pleasing unto God; todays organizational church has recreated God to fit their protocols, holiness that honors God through love; the love of God, and the love of our neighbor as ourselves, that promotes obedience and love for the word, has been exchanged for the worldly view of bigger is better; I was reminded of the scripture which tells us that 12 men turned the world upside down. We have abandoned personal witnessing and evangelism; we have no real missionaries who sacrificially give of themselves for the betterment of others. Our churches have become sterile and self-righteous, shunning the lost and broken and refusing to reach out to them; instead we promote tolerance and halfhearted confessions of sin but fail to promote repentance that is the byproduct of godly sorrow. We are clearly off the path’ Jesus came into the world to save sinners to the glory of the father; does the work we do glorify the father? Are our songs to the praise of God or to showcase our talents; do we praise the Rock, or rock our praise? We need the power of the almighty God to free us from the great deception of religion, that we might follow after the righteousness of God and stop hiding behind religion, pretending to love God, while we hate our brothers, sisters’ family and neighbors! If we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit! God have mercy on us! This word came first to me, so I take the first hit of conviction and that’s a good thing; the scary thing will be those who are not convicted.
