My Brothers Keeper

Love demands accountability all too often we confuse love with permissiveness. It is not love when we fail to dissuade another believer from sin, any more than it is love when we fail to take a drink away from an alcoholic. True fellowship out of love for one another, demands accountability; it’s not what your mouth says, but rather, what your actions convey. A parent does not allow their child to do whatever they want even when the parent knows it’s wrong to do so; No, they confront and correct the child because their love for them compels them to do so. The word of God says clearly that those who love the Lord obey Him; this is not condemnation, and none of us are batting 1000; but we cannot continue in sin, that grace might abound! we cannot continue to ignore blatant sin in our lives and the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters; we cannot justify not confronting sin with witty idioms and pop psychology. To whom much is given, much is required. For Fathers, Mothers, Husbands, Wives, Sons, Daughters and every subject area of life; THERE IS A WORD! and if we know that Christ was indeed, the WORD made flesh, then we have a moral obligation and spiritual privilege to walk in the ways of righteousness, for His names sake! He tells us clearly in His teachings that we have been endued with power from on high; and with this power came freedom from the law of sin and death. We cannot confess our allegiance to and love for, our Savior and King, who reigns as Lord of Lords, and do not, what He says. My prayer for we who are the church in the coming year, is that we would all agree to stand for the ways of God through service, charity, exhortation and witness, of a true fellowship, in the body of Christ. There are many doctrines, denominations and traditions but only, One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism. Our young women cannot learn the ways of God from unruly and rebellious wives who understand submissiveness as somehow being less than; our young men cannot learn to be good husbands by the example of men who are infidels and abusive. We have been given the authority and power to live the lives that are pleasing unto God, and we can only live this life, as we fully submit to the ways of God. We must continually seek first the kingdom of heaven, and all of it’s righteousness; we must not lean to our own understanding, but rather we must first acknowledge God, in all our ways; in all our considerations, we must seek his wisdom and guidance in all our endeavors, then He will direct our paths; as we seek the kingdom of heaven and it’s righteousness, then all other things can be added to our life.  Only then can we have the life that is fulfilling for us and pleasing unto God! So lets’ be willing to hold one another accountable, for our confessions and testimonies, that men might know, that we are the children of God; because we have Love one for another! those whom God loves He chastens; The one who has My commands and keeps them, is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me, will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”
