REPRESENTING!

All too often I hear people talking about God as though He is a popular dance craze or a genie to be called on, when you want a wish to come true, or a sign or wonder to be performed. It seems as though the notion of God being Holy and Majestic, have somehow gotten lost in a feel good, live good gospel that has no relevance to a nurtured sacrificial relationship with the God of all creation; God is proclaimed in a gospel that implies that He wants you to have any and everything you desire no matter how you live or what you do. In Ephesians chapter one we find these words; Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. The model for a life that is pleasing unto God is what is being stated here; not a feel good, have it any way you want it gospel; this is a false notion that God is not judging or caring about the way in which we live, simply because we have been saved; further I would add that if you do not care about how you are living and the way in which you are representing the God you say you serve, then for certain your very salvation is in question. No I am not saying salvation by works; I am saying work out your salvation! Give God a life; don’t be deceived; God is not mocked and will not be; you will reap just what you sow; don’t allow yourself to be deceived into believing that it does not matter how you live; the scriptures state clearly that we who are believers on the Lord Jesus Christ are ambassadors of Christ; this means that we are His representatives in the earth; so when you live according to the world; who you reppn’ – we who are saved by the spirit, must also walk according to the spirit – Represent Christ! – Bishop
